Patients with Sensory Impairments or Limited English Proficiency

Washington University will take steps necessary to ensure that patients with disabilities, including those with sensory impairments (hearing, visual or speech) or limited English proficiency (interpreter services) receive effective information concerning benefits, services, rights, waivers of rights, or consent to treatment. All aids needed to provide this information are provided without cost to the person being served.

Accessiblity

Washington University’s patient services are accessible to and usable by physically disabled persons. Access features include:
  • Convenient off-street parking designated specifically for disabled persons.
  • Curb cuts and ramps between parking areas and buildings.
  • Level access into first floors of buildings, with elevator access to all other floors.
  • Accessible public waiting areas, patient treatment areas, and bathrooms.
