Cochlear Implants in Adults - Costs

We only can estimate of the total cost of cochlear implant services for which you and/or your insurance company will be responsible. These costs are estimated because individuals differ in the services they require.

Will insurance pay for it?

Cochlear implantation is covered by insurance policies as well as Medicare, Medicaid, or Vocational Rehabilitation. Our insurance specialist will work to secure written confirmation that your plan covers the device and procedures. If you are responsible for a portion of the costs, your "out-of-pocket" maximum amount is the sum you pay before the plan covers everything else. If you have more than one health insurance policy, most of your costs will probably be paid by insurance.

If you have questions about insurance coverage, please allow our specialist to contact your company. We have found that plan personnel may misinterpret whether a plan covers cochlear implantation. Vocational Rehabilitation (a state government agency) may help with cochlear implant costs for some patients.
